Welcome to Last Call Outreach Ministry.
My name is Steve Holder, and I am a Christian minister with a calling to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage people to take their relationship with Him seriously.
My journey as a Christian has not been a straight line. I was raised in a Southern Baptist home and came to faith in Christ at an early age. As a young man, however, I went through a period of rebellion and eventually walked away from the faith. I spent years searching, questioning, and experiencing different religious traditions.
I have been involved with several different denominations and Christian movements during my journey. I have also been ordained and served in ministry. There were times when I questioned Christianity itself, and there was a period when I explored beliefs far removed from the faith in which I had been raised.
Yet through all of those years, I never completely stopped searching for truth.
Eventually, I came to understand that questioning what I had been taught did not require me to abandon Jesus Christ. In fact, it caused me to take my faith more seriously.
Today I am an evangelical, non-denominational Protestant Christian with a Full Gospel background. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, Lord, and Savior, and that salvation is found through Him.
I believe that genuine faith should produce a changed life. Following Christ involves faith, repentance, obedience, growth, and a willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us.
I also believe Christians should be willing to examine what they believe. Religious tradition should never become more important than Scripture, and we should not be afraid to study difficult questions simply because the answers may challenge something we have always been taught.
That conviction is one of the reasons Last Call Outreach Ministry exists.
Why Last Call Outreach Ministry?
I believe we are living in a time when many people are spiritually confused. Some have rejected Christianity because of the failures of Christians. Others have accepted religious traditions without ever examining them for themselves. Still others are searching for God but have no idea where to begin.
My purpose is not to build another religious empire or tell people what they must think about every theological question.
My purpose is to point people toward Jesus Christ.
Through this ministry, I write articles, produce teaching videos, study Scripture, and address subjects that I believe Christians need to think about seriously. Some of those subjects are encouraging. Some are uncomfortable. Some challenge popular religious assumptions.
I make no claim to have all the answers.
I have been wrong before, and I will probably be wrong again. What matters is that we continue seeking truth rather than becoming so attached to our traditions that we can no longer recognize it.
A Ministry of Scripture and Discipleship
Last Call Outreach Ministry places a strong emphasis on discipleship.
Jesus did not simply call people to believe something about Him. He called people to follow Him.
That means learning His teachings, trusting Him, obeying Him, repenting when we fail, and continuing to grow.
I believe the Christian life is a lifelong process. None of us has reached perfection. We all have more to learn, more to surrender, and more room to grow.
A Prophetic Voice
Another emphasis of my ministry is the message of the biblical prophets.
The prophets did not merely predict future events. They confronted sin. They challenged injustice. They warned people who had become comfortable with religious appearances while their lives contradicted the character of God.
That is why I am spending considerable time teaching from the book of Amos. Amos spoke to a people who had religion, prosperity, and outward confidence, yet God confronted them because of their treatment of others and their refusal to turn from sin.
Those warnings deserve our attention today.
The Gospel is a message of grace, but grace does not mean that sin no longer matters.
Reaching Beyond Church Walls
Last Call Outreach Ministry exists primarily as an outreach ministry.
Through this website, YouTube, articles, blogs, and social media, I hope to make biblical teaching available to people who might never walk through the doors of a traditional church.
The ministry has also connected me with Christians and ministers in other parts of the world who are serving in communities with limited resources.
That has reminded me that the body of Christ extends far beyond our own communities, denominations, and countries.
A Christian in rural Africa or India who is faithfully serving Christ is just as much a brother or sister in Christ as someone sitting in an American church on Sunday morning.
Why “Last Call”?
The name Last Call Outreach Ministry reflects the urgency I believe belongs in the Christian message.
We do not know how much time any of us has.
That does not mean we should live in fear or become obsessed with predicting dates and events. It means we should take seriously the call of Jesus Christ while we have the opportunity.
There is still time to repent.
There is still time to believe.
There is still time to follow Christ.
And there is still work to be done.
My prayer is that Last Call Outreach Ministry will help people take another look at Jesus, take another look at Scripture, and take another look at their own lives.
